08:00 Board a cruise for an amazingly long-tail boat journey. Cruise along the Mekong River past beautiful Laotian countryside and local villages to where the Mekong meets the Nam-Ou River. Stop at the fascinating Pak Ou Caves, which is in fact a cave system of two interlinked caves, crammed full of Buddha statues left behind by pilgrims over generations. Cross over the river to Ban Pak Ou and visit Tad Sae waterfall. This stunning waterfall cascades over the forest with cool natural swimming pools.
Return to Luang Prabang and for those with some extra energy climb Phousi Hill. The 328 steps to the top are certainly worth it. Once at the summit you’ll have a fabulous panoramic view over the town centre, the mighty Mekong River, and beyond.
In the evening explore the Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textiles by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Return to your hotel at 18:30.
