Nam Ha National Protected Area Tour

Trekking is a great way to get off the beaten track. We offer various trekking trips throughout Laos. Here is an option for a day trip in Luang Namtha, allowing you to see local villages and ethnic groups.

The day starts with a 35-minute Tuk-Tuk ride heading out of town and to the Nam Ha National Protected Area. Your local guide knows the trail, forest, and herbal medicine, and will guide you all the way up the mountain and deep into the Nam Ha National Protected Area. You may encounter or hear wild animals and birds, and spot their tracks. Your guide will share some of his ancestral knowledge about the traditional use of medicinal plants and edible leaves.

After two hours, you'll stop for a picnic lunch. Continuing through the primary forest within the Nam Ha National Protected Area, you will finish your trek around 3-4 pm close to Nam Ha, a Khmu Tribal village, which you will have the opportunity to visit. The Tuk-Tuk will then take you back to Luang Namtha. (~4 – 5hours trekking10 km)
