Experience the 4000 Islands by Kayak or even a long-tail boat.
Starting from Don Det, we start kayaking downstream, stopping near Khone Pasoi Waterfall. We walk past the waterfall and continue kayaking after the falls to see the rare Irrawaddy dolphins on the Cambodian side of the border. Have a picnic lunch at the community restaurant prepared in Khmer style by the local villagers. Kayak to Vern Kham, another 4 km away, and then back on the Laos side of the river.
Here, your vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Don Khone, but not before stopping at the Mekong's largest waterfall, Khon Phapheng. This is part of the Mekong fault line. The fault line stretches across the entire Mekong River and has been formed by the river eroding the softer rock downstream
After the waterfall, we transfer to Ban Nakasang, the boat pier, where we take the boat to return to your hotel on Don Det or Don Khone
