Package Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Cambodia / Laos Border – Don Khone

On arrival at Laos immigration, you will be met by your Laos guide, after finishing immigration we take a short boat trip to see the Irrawaddy dolphins who reside on this part of the Mekong. Returning to Veun Kham we continue north by road to Khon Pha Paeng waterfall known as the “Niagara of the East”, part of the Mekong fault line which stretches across the entire Mekong River. Then we transfer to the 4,000 islands. You will spend the night on the tranquil island of Don Khone

Day 2: Don Khone – Don Khong

After breakfast, we explore Don Khone by Tuk Tuk visit Liphi waterfall, and then we heading to the southern of Don Khone known as Hang Khone here you will take a boat to see the Irrawaddy dolphins, before taking a boat trip ride through the 4000 Islands past Don Det and Don Som and to the largest island, Don Khong. Check into your hotel where you are then free at leisure

Mid-afternoon take a drive around Don Khong to visit the locals making palm sugar and also stop by the local temple before returning to your hotel

Day 3: Don Khong – Xepian – Wat Phou – Champasak

After breakfast head to the town of Ban Kiat Ngong, Ban Kiat Ngong is situated in the Xe Pian National Protected area and is a great place for bird watching enthusiasts. From Ban Kiat Ngong take a 1-hour walk to the top of Phu Asa a temple mount in the heart of the protected area. At the top, you can enjoy great views of the wetlands below.

After lunch in Kiat Ngong we continue to Champasak to visit the UNESCO Heritage site of Wat Phu. This Natural Heritage Site was built in the 6th century by the Khmers and was originally used to worship the Hindu god Shiva and other deities before being converted into a Buddhist temple in later centuries. Wat Phu was considered the center of the Khmer kingdom until it was moved to Angkor Wat in the 12th century. Spend the night in Champasak.

Day 4: Champasak – Bolaven Highlight – Pakse

08:30 after breakfast drive onto Bolaven Highlight via Pakse. As soon as you leave Pakse the road climbs in elevation ascending onto the Plateau. The Bolaven plateau is made from Volcanic Rock, which makes for suburb tea and coffee plantations that thrive on the rich volcanic soil and the cooler climate. Visit tea and coffee plantations and learn about their processing before carrying on to Tad Fane Waterfall.

Tad Fane waterfall sits at an elevation of 1100m and has two stunning cascades dropping 120m off the edge of the plateau. A further 2km from Tad Fane is Tad Yuang Waterfall, a great spot for a swim or a photo. Head back across the plateau to see Tad Paxuam where you can learn about the different ethnic tribes that live on the plateau. Enjoy a drink and relax by the waterfall before returning to Pakse

Day 5: Pakse – Departure

After breakfast check out from the hotel and continue the trip to visit Dao Huang Market and Wat Phou Salao for a great view of Pakse before transferring to Pakse airport for your award flight
